Dionne caught the theater bug at a very early age when performing in her first show at age 6. She then annoyed her family by performing many musicals in her bedroom like Wizard of Oz and Sound of Music (portraying all 7 of the vonTrapp children), as well as directing/forcing her siblings to perform in many shows for her family. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Master’s Degree as a Reading Specialist from West Virginia University. She has stage managed, acted, directed, and filled numerous other theater roles in West Virginia, Virginia, California, and Ohio. She can’t think of anything more exciting or important than combining her love of teaching children and her passion for theater.
Jessi can still remember watching her very first musical performance (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) and deciding that she wanted to perform in musicals for the rest of her life. That summer, she joined a children’s chorus in a community theater production of School House Rock Live! and hasn’t slowed down since! She went on to study Music Education and Theatre at Kent State University and is now a music teacher in the Dayton Area as well as a vocal instructor. Jessi is passionate about chocolate-dipped waffle cones with rainbow sprinkles, having a dance party every day, and exploring new places with her wife.
